Cosmetic Re-Contouring, Reshaping and Repair of Chipped or Worn Teeth

Cosmetic contouring is the subtle process of sculpting and reshaping the teeth to improve their shape, size, and alignment. Re-contouring is an ideal way to repair damaged, chipped, or broken teeth to help you discover the smile you’ve always wanted. Dental health can also be improved by removing or smoothing out pits or overhangs where dental plaque or tartar easily builds up. While useful for small chips, recontouring does not take the place of veneers or bonding.  If your teeth have deeper chips or fractures or large fillings, then cosmetic recontouring is not the recommended treatment.

Cosmetic Bonding

Repairs chipped, discoloured and misaligned teeth with minimal preparation.

While not as permanent as Porcelain Veneers, Bonding is an excellent way to whiten, lengthen or widen teeth. It can repair chips, eliminate gaps and spaces, or straighten teeth.

Porcelain Crowns

A crown acts as a protective shield for damaged teeth. Our dentists recreate a porcelain replica of the tooth to hold your natural jaw alignment. The addition of a crown not only protects your teeth, but also enhances your natural smile. Each crown is custom blended to match the size, shape and colour of your other teeth.

Crown appointments are spread over two brief sessions: First the remaining tooth matter is reduced to a healthy, strong base, eliminating the damage and decay. Impressions of the new structure are taken for the permanent crown. In the meantime, you are fitted with a temporary crown. Two weeks later, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent crown.

There are several situations in which it may be appropriate to get a porcelain crown. The most common include repairing damage from deteriorated fillings, fractures, and cavities, or preserving a tooth has undergone root canal treatment.

While a crown is an easy, long-lasting way to repair tooth damage, eventually it will have to be replaced. There are multiple material choices for crowns — Dr. Naddaf, Dr. Ragan, and Dr. Zahedi will provide you with an explanation of each and what they feel will be best in your mouth, the ultimate choice is yours.

Veneers

Veneers achieve the same look as crowns, but in a way that is less invasive. This little procedure goes a long way to give you a picture perfect smile you have always wanted in just a few visits.

Rather than dealing with extensive tooth decay and damage, veneers correct cosmetic concerns otherwise fixed by braces and white fillings: chips, caps, discolouration, stains and signs of aging. Veneers are even able to adjust the length and alignment of your teeth. Best of all, they offer your teeth the ultimate protection.

Onlays

If you find that your filling can no longer handle the damage done by cavities, it is time to switch to an onlay. It is the best way to conservatively maintain the structure of the walls of a tooth. Rather than forgo the entire tooth structure, as done for a crown, an onlay will only replace the damaged portions.

Bridges

A bridge is an artificial structure to replace missing teeth. It is a more permanent solution than a partial denture and prevents any harm that missing teeth may cause. Our bridges are completely customized for a comfortable fit.

Similar to a porcelain crown, the bridge is completed over two appointments. The first session includes preparation and impressions. In the final appointment, the tooth on each side of the gap is crowned to anchor the bridge into place.

Our dentists determine the best material for your bridge in a consultation with you. No matter what material used, your new bridge with blend with your other teeth and stay strong so you can eat, talk and laugh with confidence and peace of mind.
